The kids will discover the kind of amazing views only seen from a canoe during an I Can Paddle! program. And there’s nothing quite like catching your first fish at an I Can Fish! program. I Can Camp!

An I Can Camp! overnight program is your chance to experience the fun of camping. Our I Can Camp! crew will be on hand day and night to answer all of your “How do I do it?” questions. They’ll walk you through setting up a campsite, starting a campfire and preparing meals. Plus, try activities that will entertain your entire group. Tent, air mattress, cook stove and other gear are provided. Cost is $60 per family/group (two adults and up to three small children can fit comfortably in one tent).


I Can Camp! Backpacking

It can be daunting to step out of the campground and into the backcountry for the first time. Our backpacking programs will teach you all the basic skills needed for a successful backpacking trip. Our I Can Camp! crew will be on hand day and night to make sure your trip is a success. They’ll walk you through packing and fitting a backpack, setting up a campsite, starting a campfire and preparing meals. Backpack, tent, sleeping pad, cook stove and other gear is provided. Cost is $85 per pair. Participants must be at least 12 years old.


I Can Camp! Mini Sessions

Perfect for people who have camping questions but can’t fit an overnight program into their busy schedule, these free 90-minute programs provide participants with a quick introduction to camping. We’ll demonstrate a variety of camp skills and provide helpful tips for your first time camping in a Minnesota state park. Park permit not included.


I Can Camp! Two-night

I Can Hike!

This free two-hour program introduces families to hiking, with a focus on how to safely and comfortably enjoy the outdoors. After the program you’ll have the skills to plan your own future outdoor adventures. Each program has an option for more or less hiking, to match your comfort level. No experience or specialized gear necessary – just a pair of comfortable walking shoes. Participants must be at least 5 years old. Participants under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Park permit not included.


I Can Mountain Bike!

This entry-level mountain biking program will focus on developing skills necessary for mountain biking. The program will take place in a controlled setting with experienced instructors and equipment will be provided - including bikes and helmets. We'll start by developing basic skills on a closed course before heading out on the trails for a group ride. Participants under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Cost is $25 per adult, $15 per child. For ages 10 and older.


I Can Paddle! Canoe Camping

Our overnight canoe camping programs will help prepare you for future paddling trips to lakeside and riverside campsites. We’ll help you plan for your trip and make sure that you learn all of the necessary canoeing and camping skills as we paddle and camp along Savanna Lake, located in Savanna Portage State Park. Participants under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Cost is $85 per canoe (two people per canoe). For ages 12 and older.


I Can Paddle! Canoeing

You’ll learn canoeing skills from experienced guides while exploring some of Minnesota’s most stunning lakes. These programs teach the basics of canoeing on lakes, from planning a safe trip to launching the canoe to paddling efficiently. Participants under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Cost is $25 per canoe (two people per canoe recommended but can accommodate up to three people per canoe; two paddling and one sitting in the middle). For ages 5 and older.


I Can Paddle! Kayaking

You’ll learn kayaking skills from experienced guides while exploring some of Minnesota’s most stunning lakes. These programs teach the basics of kayaking on lakes, from planning a safe trip to launching the kayak to paddling efficiently. Participants under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Cost is $20 per adult, $10 per child (8-18). For ages 8 and older.
