Give your kids a blockbuster summer – all at a beginner’s level – with Minnesota State Parks and Trails I Can! programs. An I Can Camp! overnight program gets you out camping with the kids. The kids will discover the kind of amazing views only seen from a canoe during an I Can Paddle! program. And there’s nothing quite like catching your first fish at an I Can Fish! program. I Can Camp!

An I Can Camp! overnight program is your chance to introduce your kids to the fun of camping. Our I Can Camp! crew will be on hand day and night to answer all of your “How do I do it?” questions. They’ll walk you through setting up a campsite, starting a campfire and preparing meals. Plus, try activities that will entertain the whole family. Tent, air mattress, cook stove and other gear are provided. Cost is $60 per family/group (two adults and up to three small children can fit comfortably in one tent).


I Can Camp! Two-night

I Can Fish!

Show your kids the fun of casting into the water and the excitement when there's a tug on the line! These hands-on programs teach all of the basics, from fish identification to casting. You and your family will be ready to begin a lifetime of memories on Minnesota’s lakes and streams. Programs last approximately two hours. Ages five and older. Participants under age 18 must be accompanied by a registered, participant, parent or legal guardian. $7/person, children under 12 are free with a registered adult.


I Can Fish! en español

Aprende a pescar con tus niños en el nuevo programa de I Can Fish! (en español)… ¡y disfruten de la emoción al sentir el tironeo en la línea! En este programa práctico, podrás aprender todo lo básico sobre el deporte de la pesca, desde identificación de peces y qué cebo usar, hasta el lance de la línea y cómo hacer los nudos. Los programas duran aproximadamente dos horas. Para participantes de cinco años o mayores. Los participantes menores de 18 años deben estar acompañados por un participante registrado, ya sea padre o tutor legal. COSTO: $7 para adultos; GRATIS para niños de 12 años o menores, siempre y cuando estén con un adulto registrado.


I Can Mountain Bike!

This entry-level mountain biking program will focus on developing skills necessary for mountain biking. The program will take place in a controlled setting with experienced instructors and equipment will be provided - including bikes and helmets. We'll start by developing basic skills on a closed course before heading out on the trails for a group ride. Participants under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Cost is $25 per adult, $15 per child. For ages 10 and older.


I Can Paddle! Canoeing on the Lake

You’ll learn canoeing skills from experienced guides while exploring some of Minnesota’s most stunning lakes. These programs teach the basics of canoeing on lakes, from planning a safe trip to launching the canoe to paddling efficiently. Participants under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Cost is $25 per canoe (two people per canoe recommended but can accommodate up to three people per canoe; two paddling and one sitting in the middle). For ages 5 and older.


I Can Paddle! Canoeing on the River

Take your canoeing experience to the next level! Paddle along miles of the most scenic rivers in Minnesota. On the water we’ll practice a variety of paddling techniques and maneuvers. You’ll also learn how to plan a river trip for your entire family. Each program is four to five hours. Participants under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Cost is $35 per canoe (two people per canoe recommended but can accommodate up to three people per canoe; two paddling and one sitting in the middle). For ages 8 and older.


I Can Paddle! Kayaking on the Lake

You’ll learn kayaking skills from experienced guides while exploring some of Minnesota’s most stunning lakes. These programs teach the basics of kayaking on lakes, from planning a safe trip to launching the kayak to paddling efficiently. Participants under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Cost is $20 per adult, $10 per child (8-18). For ages 8 and older.


I Can Paddle! Kayaking on the River

Take your kayaking experience to the next level! Paddle along miles of the most scenic rivers in Minnesota. On the water we’ll practice a variety of paddling techniques and maneuvers. You’ll also learn how to plan a river trip for your entire family. Each program is four to five hours. Participants under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. I Can Paddle! Sea Kayaking

So you’ve paddled lakes and you’ve paddled rivers, but have you paddled a GREAT Lake? Try sea kayaking on the Lake Superior State Water Trail. You’ll learn all the basics of sea kayaking while gliding past towering cliffs and the Split Rock Lighthouse. No experience is necessary and all equipment is provided. Participants under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Cost is $45 per adult, $35 per child. Advance registration is required. For ages 12 and older.
